Amitabh Bachchan tests COVID-19 positive

The Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan announced his diagnosis of coronavirus on Twitter and asked everyone near him to have Covid-19 screened. “I tested Covid positive. Shift to the hospital. Family and employees undergo testing, expected results. Anyone who was close to me over the past 10 days are asked to be tested,” Amitabh Bachchan said in a tweet.

Doctors verified that Amitabh Bachchan is symptomatic and self-isolating in India, before he was taken on Saturday night to Nanavati Hospital.

While the Amitabh Bachchan remained at home since the lockdown started on March 25, he recently shot promotions of Kaun Banega Crorepati and other home projects and thereby had communication with the production staff who came home.

People from all over the world responded to Bacchan ‘s tweet and wished him a fast recovery.

The actor Rajkummar Rao wrote on Twitter “Pray sir! Sending you a lot of love and energy!” Boman Irani also wrote, ‘You are a fighter, Sir. Get well soon’ in his co-star in films such as Baghban.

As a second celebrity, the coronavirus is contracted by Amitabh Bachchan, one of several world’s most famous film stars. Hollywood’s Tom Hanks had tested positive earlier and recovered from compulsory quarantine together with his wife.

The Nanavati Hospital is located near the actors’ residence in the Juhu area of the city of Mumbai’s Ville Parle.

In a 1982 almost fatal accident on Manmohan Desai’s Coolie’s sets, 77 Amitabh Bachchan had survived. Since then, because of restraint, he has been dealing with a damaged liver. He regularly works out and practices a healthy diet.

Big B was last seen along with Ayushmann Khurrana in Shoojit Sircar’s comedy drama Gulabo Sitabo. The film was first released in theater, but it premiereed in Amazon Prime Video because of the coronavirus pandemic.
