Dan Quinn claims that the defence “ran our race” in the victory.

Dallas, Texas The Dallas Cowboys are now able to take a tough win into the bye week to stand firm at 4-2, so there was a lot more optimism to go around on Tuesday at The Star than there was a week ago when the club was recovering from a significant loss.

On Tuesday, special teams coordinator John Fassel, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn all met with the media to talk about the Chargers victory and the team’s outlook going into the bye week. Here are some of those availabilities’ highlights.

Usain Bolt, an eight-time gold medalist, and his defensive unit were compared by Dan Quinn during his opening remarks. He claimed that the defence can perform at its best when it concentrates on its own “race.”

We have been discussing finishing our race all week, Dan Quinn added. “I believed that was a crucial message for us following last week. Usain Bolt was cited as evidence that Justin Gatlin wasn’t being watched in lane four. Dan Quinn was only concerned with his current situation. We needed to look in lane 4, but we didn’t.
The Cowboys had not previously encountered a photo finish in five games, but that race had one in the closing moments.

“We haven’t had that where we had to go in the deep waters of the last two minutes of the game in this season into our sixth game,” he stated. “After a defeat, we weren’t expecting anything to be simple, and it wasn’t. That is precisely what we required.

Dak Prescott’s read option run for 18 yards on fourth down to score the Cowboys’ first points was a welcome sight for fans of the team in the first half.

Prescott led the club in rushing yards with 42 after using his improvisational skills to get some extra yardage outside of the pocket during the game.

Dan Quinn

Dan Quinn was fantastic, stated Brian Schottenheimer. “It’s something that hasn’t necessarily been missing, but it hasn’t been as noticeable as it was last night. He did a great job of leaving Earth and entering space. Last night, he was unquestionably a weapon for us.

Markquese Bell had a great coming-out celebration on Monday night by assuming a starting position in the second level and succeeding. After Leighton Vander Esch’s injury last week, Dan Quinn found it really encouraging.

Dan Quinn added, “Man, I was happy with him. “I felt the velocity. I could feel the hitting and collision when the running back emerged from the backfield. That was what I observed.

Damone Clark also needed to be fluid in positioning this week due to Vander Esch’s injury, and he received the same accolades.
“I was pleased with Damone, too,” he added. Leighton’s injury forced Damone to play a different position, so he did. One of the best sensations for a player, in my opinion, is when they step up when they know they are being counted on and deliver, to see those two truly move into that area and want to be relied upon.

Lamb’s Overthrow

After the team’s defeat to San Francisco the previous week, it was evident that CeeDee Lamb wanted the ball more. On Monday night, he got his wish by contributing 117 yards and seven receptions to the offence.

Schottenheimer claimed that the foundation of his performance began in practise over the previous week, even if what we saw on the pitch was materialised for everyone to see coming out of last week.

“It really did start in practise,” he stated. “He was a man with a purpose. He was on a mission, and it was our Thursday practise. You observed that attitude, and I believe there is merit to it. You get him going in the first few games, and he just feeds off it. I adore how passionately he plays while his hair is on fire.

Aubrey Butter

In his postgame press conference, Dak Prescott made fun of rookie kicker Brandon Aubrey, who has made 16 of 16 field goal attempts to start his NFL career, calling him ‘Butter Aubrey’ as he helped the Cowboys secure victory with a winning field goal in the closing seconds.

John Fassel resorted to humility when questioned about the moniker as a sign of superstition as Aubrey approaches the NFL record of 18 straight made field goals to start a career.

He’s doing well, said Fassel. “I’m just trying to be quiet about it. I can tell he gets a little kick out of this or that. I’m trying not to get too pumped up.
