Death at 43 for Billy Miller, Star of “The Young and the Restless” and “General Hospital”

Billy Miller, who starred in “The Young and the Restless” and “General Hospital,” and won a Daytime Emmy, passed away on Friday in Austin. He was 43.

Miller’s manager released a statement to Variety on Sunday, the day the actor’s 44th birthday would have been.

The actor “was battling manic depression at the time of his death,” the statement added.

Patricia Miller issued a statement through her son’s manager, who shared it on X (previously Twitter). The “overwhelming amount of love, prayers, and condolences sent to me and my family” after her son’s death was acknowledged, and she expressed gratitude for it.
The statement said, “He fought a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years,” and was written by Patricia Miller.

He exhausted all possible means of containing the illness. He cared deeply for his loved ones, but his illness ultimately proved too much to overcome. The alternative explanations for death being spread are false. I’d love for them to be, but they’re not. We are all trying so hard to come to terms with his death because we loved him so much. I am at a loss for words. We appreciate all the care and concern.
Miller was born on September 17, 1979, in Grand Prairie, Texas, where he spent his childhood. Tarsal coalition is a rare illness that impacted the cartilage in his ankles, and it plagued him throughout his infancy.

After being signed as a model by Wilhelmina, he went on to play Richie Novak in the soap opera “All My Children” from 2007 to 2008. When Billy Abbott’s part on “The Young and the Restless” became available, Miller made the switch.

Miller won three Daytime Emmys for his work on “The Young and the Restless.” He was recognised as the show’s best lead actor, outstanding supporting actor, and outstanding newcomer. In 2014, he left the soap opera to join “General Hospital.”

Before joining “Suits” for five episodes, Miller starred on “General Hospital” as Jason Morgan and Drew Cain till 2019.

Aside from “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Castle,” and “Enormous,” he has also been on “NCIS,” “The Rookie,” “Truth Be Told,” “Major Crimes,” and “Castle.” Both the Nathalie Kelley–starring “Urban Cowboy” (2016) by Craig Brewer and the Clint Eastwood–directed “American Sniper” (2014) include him in supporting roles.
