As to why Kansas State can beat the spread

Kansas State’s dynamic running game ignited a number of big drives in the final minutes of the victory over UCF. Sophomore DJ Giddens, who carried for 207 yards and four touchdowns, may have been the Wildcats’ next standout running back. Deuce Vaughn, now with the Dallas Cowboys, was a key contributor to last year’s Big 12 championship squad.

Giddens seemed evasive and unpredictable, getting more energized as the game progressed. In the season opener against Southeast Missouri State, he had 15 carries for 128 yards, which was his previous best performance. After last week’s game, Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman was quick to highlight Giddens’ growth.

“We challenged him to step up and we were going to give him the football and keep giving it to him,”

All the reasons Oklahoma State will cover the spread
This week, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy declared that sixth-year senior Alan Bowman will continue to start at quarterback. This was the first time Gundy had named his starting quarterback in advance this season. Gundy told the press that the Cowboys’ offensive performance against Iowa State was their best of the season. Bowman only completed 48% of his passes because he frequently tossed the ball away when under duress.

Bowman, a former Texas Tech starter who also played for Michigan, made a few crucial plays in the passing game that kept the Cowboys in the game. He completed touchdown passes of 60 and 20 yards to Jaden Nixon and Rashod Owens, respectively, in the second and fourth halves. Because we covered men up in the running game and protected quite well, he was able to do his job. I believed he played well enough to make his return to the starting lineup,” Gundy said.
