Highlights from the Israel-Hamas conflict include Israel’s claims that it has destroyed large parts of Gaza in retaliation for the worst attacks by Hamas in the territory’s 75-year history.
High points of the Israel-Hamas Conflict: Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, Israel conducted air attacks across Gaza as retaliatory bombing, which the health ministry in Gaza estimates has killed at least 900 people and injured 4,600 more, proceeded to level communities in the densely populated coastal territory. On Tuesday, the Israeli embassy in the United States reported that the death toll from the Hamas attacks over the weekend had risen to 1,200. The majority of those killed were unarmed bystanders who were shot in their homes, on the streets, or at an outdoor dance party.

The potential of a wider regional confrontation was highlighted on Tuesday by new exchanges of fire between this and militants in Lebanon and Syria along the country’s northern borders.

As Tuesday evening drew to a close, there was still no evidence that the Hamas terrorists holding Israeli soldiers and civilians hostage had carried out their threat to execute a captive for each home hit in Gaza.

At least 1,900 people have been killed, and authorities on both sides estimate that the conflict might be resolved with the help of a mediator. As this continued its bombardment on the Gaza Strip and drove more Palestinians to UN shelters, the death toll was anticipated to rise.

Reuters, citing Egyptian security sources, stated that Egypt is in talks with the United States to give relief to Palestinians through the Egyptian border with Gaza, and that efforts to set up a safe path for fleeing refugees of the Palestinian enclave have been refused.


While 169 this troops have been killed, the IDF claims to have targeted 2,600 “terrorist targets” in the Gaza Strip, which they attribute to Hamas and the Islamic Jihad.

The Islamic University, which the IDF claims was utilized by Hamas terrorists as a training camp for military intelligence operatives and for the creation and production of weaponry, was one of the more notable targets attacked by its fighter jets in Gaza.

Following Tuesday’s strikes on Hamas’ minister of economics and the head of its internal relations office, the IDF indicated in its daily update that it will continue to prioritize the targeting of senior Hamas figures in Gaza.

Vice President Joe Biden claimed that after Hamas’ attacks on Israel, his government issued a warning to Iran.

Wednesday afternoon at the White House, President Trump addressed a group of Jewish community leaders.

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on Tuesday that Iran was “complicit” in the strike since it has backed Hamas for decades, despite sources telling NBC News that U.S. information showed Iranian leaders were astonished by Hamas’ attack on Israel.

Hamas’ strike, according to Biden, was “pure cruelty.”

In his opinion, “I would argue it’s the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust,” Biden remarked.
