Miss Universe 2019 crown won by Miss South Africa

The Miss Universe 2019 contest took place on Sunday, 8th December 2019 at Tyler Perry Studios in the capital of Georgia, Atlanta. The contest was held among 90 women all over the universe, who represented each of their native country. The rounds of the contest was including competition among the women who showed themselves up on swimsuit, evening gown and on-stage question rounds. This was the 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition.

The crown of the Miss Universe 2019 was taken to home by Zozibini Tunzi who is from Tsolo, South Africa. She is 26-year-old and was quite active to fight against gender based violence and was holding the title of Miss South Africa. Out of the 90 contestants, top 20 was chosen by the public through online voting. The runner up of the contest were holding the title of Miss Mexico and Miss Puerto Rico respectively.

The question that was asked to Zozibini Tunzi on the final round of Miss Universe 2019 was, “What is the most important thing you should be teaching young girls today?”. Her answer was, “I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me, with my kind of skin and my kind of hair, was never considered to be beautiful. I think it is time that stops today. I want children to look at me and see my face. I want them to see their faces reflected in mine.” With such an attractive answer, Zozibini Tunzi won over the crown of Miss Universe 2019 and also the heart of the judges and spectators.
